  • Iam in class 9.My vision is 6/9 and 6/12 .My eye power is -3 and -4 .Can I join navy enginneer ?If yes , then how can I prepare myself from now?

  • Can i join Indian army trough NDA or CDS entry schemes with myopia of -2.75 D on both L and R side of my eyes ?. Second question why is the Indian military so strict on visual standards ?,i checked the eyesight eligibility on the french foreign legion( -10 D ) and the us army and marine corps (-7 D) , so why cant our military lift the visual standards for the army? .There are many passionate aspirants who will benefit from such changes and would be able to serve their nation .

    • Absolutely, our Armed Forces have made the medical standards so strict that most of the deserving candidates fail in this. I think these medical standards are not revised for decades. Nowadays technology is developing so rapidly that these medical standards does not matter till your condition is really bad. Atleast for technical branches, these standards should be low. I am an aspirant of CDSE and I’m totally confused, whether I would be able to make it into the IMA/OTA or not. My visual acuity is 6/6 (without glasses) in the left eye and 6/12(with/without glasses) partial in the right eye with amblyopia/lazy eye. The doc said, it cannot be corrected with glasses. What shall I do now?
      Please guide me _/\_
I’m desperately waiting for an answer to my question.
I want to tell everybody, that even if I couldn’t make it into the FAUJ in this birth, I will certainly make it in my next birth.

  • i had Lasik done 1 year back and now vision is 6/6 with no colour blindness with no any internal pathology of eye but axial length 26.6 and all other medical examinations are perfectly normal
I applied for Army, cleard interview..applied for appeal
can it be the only reason for permanent fit or may they give a little importance to this thing?
almost every myopic have more axial length than normal
