The Group Planning Exercise (GPE) is a key component of the Group Task (GT) series at the SSB, designed to evaluate a candidate’s planning, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. In a typical GPE, you will be presented with a map, a situation, and several problems to tackle within a limited timeframe. You and your group must come up with a detailed, logical plan to address all issues effectively.

You are a group of 8 NCC students who have come from Rampur for firing to the ranges by a van. You have been told to return for the campfire which is scheduled for 1900 hours. As you moved out from the ranges, your vehicle stalled near the road junction as the filter was blocked. Driver informed that it would take half an hour to repair the van. Meanwhile, you decided to have a cup of tea at the tea shop. Just then, the priest of the Kali temple came and informed that an armed man in uniform is hiding in the temple. He was the same individual who had been deserted from the Chanda police station with a weapon 3 days back. As you were planning on your course of action, a scooterist came and halted near the tea shop as his tyre got punctured. You overheard him saying that he had seen a speeding car with two occupants skid off the road and overturned halfway from Bangali basti. And since he was in a hurry to reach the Salia railway station to receive his son, he could not stop and help the injured. In the meantime, you saw a man come on a bicycle to the tea shop from the direction of Bhagu jungle. He told the shop owner that he saw the local goon Appan and 2 of his associates forcibly dragging a young girl, daughter of the doctor from Bangali basti, into the jungle. The telephone lines are dead since the last 2 days. The time now is 1600 hours. As young and bold students, what will you do?
