A wreath-laying ceremony recently took place to honor the memory of Naib Subedar Shyam Gurung and Rifleman Ranjit Singh Kashyap, both members of the Assam Rifles, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty on September 19, 2025. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, alongside Lieutenant General R C Tiwari, commanding officer of the Eastern Command, and Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding of the Spear Corps. Both military leaders laid wreaths at the memorial, offering heartfelt tributes to the fallen soldiers.
Family members of the deceased soldiers, along with senior officers and troops of the Assam Rifles, gathered to pay their respects.
