The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) held the Director’s Parade, a pivotal rehearsal for the upcoming Passing Out Parade (POP) of the 77th Regular Recruit (77RR) batch. This significant event took place on the academy grounds, underscoring the disciplined training and international cooperation that define SVPNPA’s esteemed legacy.
Commanded by Anjit A Nayar, an IPS probationer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, the parade featured a contingent of 190 officer trainees, including 16 foreign officers from Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal. This diverse representation highlights the academy’s commitment to fostering global partnerships in police training. The ceremony marked the conclusion of the first phase of an extensive 11-month program aimed at equipping future Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with the skills required to tackle modern policing challenges.
During the event, SVPNPA Director Amit Garg inspected the parade and delivered an address to the probationers, stressing the significance of their training and dedication in preparing them for their roles in law enforcement. The parade showcased striking visuals, including meticulously aligned formations of trainees standing on a rain-dampened parade ground, an ornate podium adorned with flowers, and a ceremonial jeep inspection, all reflecting the academy’s tradition of military precision.
As part of the ceremony, 41 officials from the academy received the Director’s Commendation Roll and Insignia. Among the awardees, Ms. Kirti Yadav, an IPS probationer from the AGMUT cadre, was honored with the Medal for the best Probationer in Drill. Similarly, Shri Bansode Pratik Dadasaheb from the Chhattisgarh cadre received recognition as the best Probationer in Musketry, and Mr. Kuenga Lhendup, an officer trainee from the Royal Bhutan Police, was awarded the Medal for Best Gentleman Probationer in Physical Training.
Founded in 1986, SVPNPA stands as a cornerstone of police training in India, preparing officers who will serve as Assistant Superintendents of Police across the nation. The forthcoming Passing Out Parade for the 77RR batch will symbolize the official culmination of their foundational training phase, marking a new chapter in the careers of these dedicated individuals.
