In a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing women’s role in the Indian Army, the Vajra Corps and Headquarters Recruiting Zone in Jalandhar hosted a Women Agniveer Recruitment Rally, opened to candidates from Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. This event represents a significant stride towards gender empowerment within the armed forces.
The rally attracted over 250 enthusiastic young women, each demonstrating remarkable determination, courage, and a commitment to serving the nation. The participants showcased their readiness to take on the challenges of military service, reinforcing the growing aspirations and potential of women in uniform.
Maj Gen MS Bains, the Zonal Recruiting Officer for Jalandhar, had the honor of reviewing and flagging off the event. He commended the zeal and discipline exhibited by the candidates, recognizing their efforts as vital steps in breaking traditional barriers that have long stood in the way of women’s participation in the military.
