Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, recently evaluated the operational readiness of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps and Shahbaaz Division during Exercise MaruJwala. This large-scale exercise is being conducted in the expansive Thar Desert as part of the Tri-Service framework of Exercise Trishul.

The primary objective of the exercise was to validate innovative tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) that exhibit next-generation combat adaptability. During the drills, indigenously developed drones, counter-drone systems, and advanced military equipment were deployed, underscoring India’s commitment to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat in defense technology. The exercise provided a platform to rigorously test joint coordination and facilitate rapid decision-making in dynamic battlefield scenarios.

Conducted under realistic combat conditions reflective of the desert environment, the exercise showcased combined arms maneuvers that integrated mechanized and infantry columns. These operations were significantly supported by aviation assets from the Thar Raptors and the Indian Air Force (IAF). The scenarios simulated multi-domain operations concentrating on air-ground synergy, precision targeting, and electronic warfare coordination, which ultimately enhanced inter-service interoperability.

Interacting with the troops participating in the exercise, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth expressed his appreciation for the professionalism, agility, and operational excellence demonstrated by the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, Shahbaaz Division, and other formations from Southern Command and the IAF. He characterized these attributes as the defining traits of a Future-Ready Force.

The Army Commander emphasized that agility, adaptability, and innovation are fundamental to modern military transformation, ensuring the Indian Armed Forces are ready to tackle future challenges across various battlefronts. Exercise MaruJwala, integral to Exercise Trishul, serves as a striking testament to the commitment of the Indian Armed Forces toward promoting jointness, embracing technological innovation, and fostering self-reliance in bolstering national defense capabilities.
