Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the Army Commander of Northern Command, embarked on a significant visit to North Kashmir aimed at reviewing the anti-infiltration grid and evaluating the operational readiness of frontline formations stationed along the Line of Control (LoC).
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma conducted inspections of forward posts and critical sectors, where he received briefings on the prevailing security situation, deployment strategies, and current measures in place to counter infiltration attempts amidst the rugged terrain and adverse climatic conditions characteristic of North Kashmir.
Senior field commanders presented comprehensive updates that highlighted the cutting-edge surveillance systems and next-generation technologies implemented to bolster border defense. These advancements included advanced electro-optical devices, high-resolution sensors, counter-infiltration grids, UAV-based monitoring systems, and real-time communication networks, all crucial for enhancing situational awareness along the border.
Recognizing the commendable efforts of the troops, Lt Gen Sharma praised them for their exceptional professionalism, operational discipline, high combat readiness, and unwavering vigilance in addressing emerging threats along the LoC. He acknowledged the resilience and dedication of the personnel, who continue to operate effectively in extremely challenging conditions, affirming that their steadfast commitment plays a vital role in maintaining the sanctity of India’s frontiers.
In his address, the Army Commander reaffirmed the Northern Command’s preparedness to counter infiltration attempts, maintain operational dominance, and respond promptly to any security contingencies. He emphasized the importance of integrating modern technology, ground intelligence, and battlefield innovations to further enhance the Army’s capability to protect the nation’s borders with precision and foresight.
