Major General Vikas Lal has officially taken command as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Paschim Madhya Pradesh Sub Area in a ceremony that underscored both dignity and tradition. During the event, he honored the sacrifices of the nation’s brave soldiers who have laid down their lives in service to India.
In his inaugural address to all ranks, Major General Lal emphasized the critical need for the Indian Army to maintain a state of operational readiness. He highlighted the importance of strengthening logistical preparedness and enhancing coordination for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) with civil administrations and various agencies. The General Officer made it clear that seamless cooperation between civil and military sectors is essential, particularly in the face of emergencies and natural disasters.
In addition to operational matters, Major General Lal reaffirmed the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of Ex-Servicemen, Veterans, Veer Naris, and their families. He emphasized that ensuring their well-being and dignity is a fundamental responsibility of the armed forces.
