The Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, made an inspiring visit to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 held at Delhi Cantt on January 13, engaging with hundreds of enthusiastic cadets from across the nation.

During his address to the cadets and NCC officers, General Chauhan expressed his pride in attending the RDC for the fourth consecutive year, acknowledging the consistently high standards and palpable enthusiasm displayed by the participants. He noted a visible growth in energy and patriotism among the young cadets, which he found encouraging. The General urged the youth to develop clarity of vision and strength of will, stating, “If you take the right path, you reach the right destination. It is important to choose the right path today.”

Drawing from his own professional experiences, General Chauhan encouraged the cadets to consider pursuing careers in the armed forces, stressing their role in constructing a “Samridhh, Sashakt aur Surakshit Bharat” by the year 2047. He underscored the importance of discipline, responsibility, and service to the nation, affirming, “You are the future leaders of Viksit Bharat.”

The General also highlighted the significance of January, pointing out various national observances occurring throughout the month, such as National Youth Day (January 12), Veterans’ Day (January 14), Army Day (January 15), Parakram Diwas (January 23), Republic Day (January 26), and Martyrs’ Day (January 30). He noted that these milestones collectively honor India’s enduring values, sacrifices, and republican spirit.

In his remarks, General Chauhan commended the crisp Guard of Honour presented by Army, Navy, and Air Wing cadets, and praised the melodious band display from the cadets of Sainik School, Ghorakhal, Uttarakhand. He also appreciated a vibrant cultural program and a socially themed Flag Area that showcased the diversity and civic awareness of the cadets.

Impressed by demonstrations of aero and naval models, as well as drone displays and technical briefings, the CDS highlighted the discipline and technological aptitude of the cadets. As he concluded his address, he urged the young participants to act decisively in the present, advising them, “Do not wait for tomorrow,” while maintaining a positive and optimistic outlook as they pursue their ambitions.

Overall, General Chauhan’s visit underscored the crucial role of the NCC in nurturing disciplined, tech-savvy, and value-driven youth, preparing them to lead India into a promising future.
