On Army Day 2026, a significant Investiture Ceremony took place at the Sapta Shakti Auditorium in Jaipur Military Station, where the Indian Army gathered to celebrate exceptional feats of bravery and commendable service across its ranks. The event, marked by solemn dignity, served as a platform to acknowledge the unwavering commitment and professional excellence demonstrated by personnel within the force.

The ceremony was led by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), who took the occasion to bestow various prestigious awards, including gallantry medals and unit recognitions, honoring those who have made extraordinary contributions to national defense.

During the ceremony, ten Sena Medals for Gallantry were awarded to individuals recognized for their outstanding acts of courage. In addition, unit citations were conferred upon 49 units, while 34 units received unit appreciations, with another 26 units being specifically acknowledged for their distinguished performance during Operation Sindoor.

One of the most notable highlights of the event was the presentation of the “Bravest of the Brave” Unit Award to the 8 Assam Rifles. This accolade underscores the unit’s exemplary operational performance and steadfast commitment, particularly in high-pressure settings.

The ceremony also extended its recognition beyond frontline soldiers. Six Veteran Achievers and three civilians were honored for their invaluable contributions and support to the Indian Army, reflecting the service’s commitment to inclusion and the vital role that both veterans and civilians play in enhancing the military’s operational effectiveness.

In a broader sense, the Investiture Ceremony served as a reaffirmation of the Indian Army’s core values—courage, honor, and duty. It paid homage to the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families, emphasizing the Army’s ongoing dedication to excellence, discipline, and selfless service as it continues to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and security.
