Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, the General Officer Commanding of the Kharga Corps, recently engaged with Directing Staff and Officer Cadets at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in a significant session focused on contemporary military challenges and the future landscape of warfare.
During his talk, Lt Gen Pushkar outlined the critical components that contributed to the success of Operation Sindoor, providing insights into strategic decision-making and the execution of military operations. He highlighted the current geopolitical climate, emphasizing the evolving nature of conflicts characterized by rapid technological advancements and the need for adaptable strategies.
Recognizing the increasing importance of technology in military operations, Lt Gen Pushkar urged the cadets to embrace a mindset of vigilance and continuous learning, encouraging them to become “Techno Warriors.” He underscored the necessity of self-reliance, or Atmanirbharta, advocating for the integration of emerging technologies in military practices. He also pointed to the ongoing transformation in the Armed Forces, notably the push towards theaterisation, to enhance operational efficiency.
In addition to technological proficiency, the Army Commander reaffirmed the core values that underpin the Indian Armed Forces. He stressed the importance of a strong officer-men relationship, highlighting that true leadership is defined by courage, character, competence, and discipline, as well as maintaining physical fitness. In this context, he reminded the cadets of the Chetwode Motto, which encapsulates the principles of service before self and the commitment to uphold the highest standards of military ethos.
The interaction served as a robust motivational platform for the future officers, equipping them with not only the knowledge needed for modern warfare but also instilling the fundamental values that have long defined the Indian Armed Forces.
