Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, conducted an important visit to INS Shivaji on March 25-26. This visit aimed to review the operational readiness and training standards at the facility.

During his time at INS Shivaji, Vice Adm Saxena evaluated the commitment of the unit towards upholding high standards in professional training and operational preparedness. He emphasized the Indian Navy’s dedication to excellence, particularly in the technical and engineering sectors.

As part of the visit, he inaugurated a new Foreign Trainee Accommodation Block, designed to improve living conditions for international trainees. In addition, he unveiled an Advanced Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) Training Simulator, a significant addition that is expected to enhance hands-on technical training capabilities for personnel.

The introduction of this new infrastructure is anticipated to not only bolster training delivery but also increase capacity, ultimately supporting the Navy’s mission to train personnel from allied nations.
