The exam will include 100 questions carrying 100 marks and will be conducted over a duration of two hours. Negative marking of one-third marks will apply for each incorrect answer. The standard of the examination will be at the graduate level.

Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be called for the Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview, where they will undergo a comprehensive assessment including psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews. Those recommended by the SSB will then undergo a medical examination. The final merit list will be prepared based on combined performance in the written exam and SSB interview.

The application process is completely online, and candidates must fill out the form IAF (TA)-9 (Revised) through the official website. The application fee is Rs. 500, which must be paid through online modes only and is non-refundable. Candidates are advised to carefully choose their exam centre, as no changes will be allowed after submission.

Once selected and commissioned, Territorial Army officers undergo structured training, including up to six months of pre-commission training, followed by post-commission training and annual training camps. Officers are granted the rank of Lieutenant at the time of commissioning and receive pay and allowances equivalent to Regular Army officers when embodied for training or active duty.

The pay scale starts at Level 10 with a salary range of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 along with Military Service Pay of Rs. 15,500. Promotions are granted based on time scale up to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, while higher ranks are selection-based. Officers may also be called for extended military service depending on national requirements.

Candidates appearing for the SSB interview must carry all required documents, including educational certificates, identity proof, income proof, employment certificate, and application forms. Proper documentation is crucial for verification and eligibility confirmation.
