Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi received a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, as part of his ongoing visit to the United States Army Pacific. This visit is significant in reinforcing the growing defence ties between India and the United States, particularly concerning security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

During the visit, General Dwivedi held high-level discussions with General Ronald P. Clark, the Commanding General of US Army Pacific, along with other senior military leaders. The talks emphasized key areas of focus, including the enhancement of India–US defence cooperation, strengthening military-to-military engagement, and promoting a shared vision for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

An aerial tour of Oahu Island was also part of General Dwivedi’s itinerary, providing him with insights into the training infrastructure, multi-domain operational readiness, and advanced military capabilities of the US Army. This experience underscores the importance of assessing both countries’ defence mechanisms and exploring potential collaborative strategies.

The discussions during the visit reflect a broader commitment from both nations to develop interoperability and technological collaboration, elements crucial for building future-ready forces. With the global security landscape becoming increasingly complex, the engagement between India and the United States is positioned to deepen their strategic partnership, aimed at ensuring stability and peace in the region.
