Lieutenant Colonel Isha Thakral has officially taken on the role of Vice Principal at Sainik School Chittorgarh, marking a significant transition in academic and administrative leadership at this esteemed military preparatory institution.
She was warmly received by Colonel Anil Dev Singh Jasrotia, the Principal of Sainik School Chittorgarh, who provided her with an overview of the school’s operations, administrative framework, notable achievements, and longstanding traditions.
Lt Col Thakral comes with a solid background, being an accomplished officer of the Army Educational Corps (AEC) with broad experience in education, military leadership, administration, and public relations. As a second-generation Army officer, she was commissioned into the Indian Army on September 16, 2006, following her graduation from the prestigious Officers Training Academy in Chennai.
Her academic credentials include a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Jammu, enhancing her qualifications for her new position. Throughout her distinguished military career, Lt Col Thakral has held several crucial positions, including her tenure from 2008 to 2011 as the Public Relations Officer at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. In that role, she was instrumental in managing institutional communications and media relations, thereby fostering outreach activities tailored to support the training needs of Gentleman Cadets.
Upon assuming her new responsibilities, Lt Col Thakral articulated her vision for Sainik School Chittorgarh, emphasizing her dedication to sustaining and enhancing the school’s rich academic and military heritage. She highlighted the significance of holistic development for cadets and committed to advancing the institution’s reputation as one of the leading military educational establishments in the country.
