Bhagat Singh Birth Anniversary 2026
- 28 September 2026 marks the 119th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh.
- He was born on 28 September 1907 in Banga, Lyallpur district, Punjab Province of British India (now Pakistan).
- He was associated with the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA).
- HSRA was formed in 1928 at a gathering of revolutionaries at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
- Following the death of Lala Lajpat Rai after injuries sustained during protests against the Simon Commission, Bhagat Singh and his associates decided to target the police officer they held responsible.
- On 17 December 1928, Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and their associates killed Lahore police officer J.P. Saunders, according to the source.
- Bhagat Singh was executed along with Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar on 23 March 1931 in Lahore at the age of 23.

India’s First LNG-Powered Train Flagged Off
