AeroVironment Launches Halo_Shield, a Modular Counter-UAS Solution

AeroVironment (AV) is advancing the field of drone defense with its innovative layered counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS), which is poised to address various airborne threats. The newly launched system, named Halo_Shield, offers a comprehensive solution for detection, tracking, identification, and neutralization of a wide array of aerial threats, including Group 1-5 drones, drone swarms, and subsonic cruise missiles.

The Halo_Shield adopts a unique modular, “tile-based” architecture, allowing for flexibility and scalability in its deployment. Each tile operates as a self-contained unit, enabling it to function independently or be seamlessly integrated into a broader network. This modular design supports operations across multiple domains, including Sentinel, Terrestrial, Nautical, Aerial, and Celestial domains, making it a versatile choice for a range of military and security applications.

This approach marks a significant shift in how organizations can strategically counter aerial threats, providing the capability to tailor defenses according to specific operational needs. By leveraging advanced technologies within its tile-based framework, Halo_Shield’s deployment can be adjusted based on the threat landscape, potentially increasing the effectiveness of defenses against evolving drone technologies and tactics.

AeroVironment’s commitment to addressing contemporary security challenges is evident through the development of Halo_Shield, which underscores the company’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art solutions for safeguarding airspace against diverse aerial threats.
