Assam Rifles Strengthens Community Outreach Through Youth Interaction and Peace Initiatives in Manipur

Imphal, July 23, 2026: The Assam Rifles has intensified its community outreach initiatives in Manipur, conducting interaction programmes in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts to further its commitment to fostering peace, trust, and socio-economic development in the region.

On July 20, 2026, personnel from the Assam Rifles visited Khengjang village in the Chandel District, where they engaged with students from Stella Maris School and local residents. The primary focus of this interaction was to inspire the youth to prioritize education, uphold discipline, and actively partake in nation-building efforts.

During the sessions, Assam Rifles troops encouraged students to cultivate leadership skills, embrace positive values, and strive to be responsible citizens. The interaction underscored the Force’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of local communities through ongoing engagements and developmental initiatives aimed at promoting harmony and progress.

In a parallel outreach effort, the Assam Rifles convened a coordination meeting with representatives from various Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Moreh, Tengnoupal District, on July 22, 2026. This meeting served as a vital platform for constructive dialogue on critical issues related to regional peace, security, and economic development.

Discussions during the meeting revolved around the current security landscape in the border region, strategies to maintain peace and stability, and the revitalization of local and cross-border trade, specifically between Moreh in India and Tamu in Myanmar. Participants emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among security forces, civil society, and local stakeholders to cultivate a secure and prosperous environment.

Representatives from the Civil Society Organisations voiced their confidence in the ongoing partnership with the Assam Rifles, commending the Force’s role in sustaining peace and facilitating development initiatives in the region. The interactions highlighted the importance of coordinated actions to not only address security concerns but also to foster socio-economic growth.

These outreach programmes exemplify the Assam Rifles’ holistic approach, blending operational duties with meaningful community engagement throughout the Northeastern region. By nurturing dialogue with youth, local communities, and civil society organisations, the Force continues to enhance public trust, encourage inclusive development, and contribute to enduring peace and stability in the border areas of Manipur.
