An award distribution ceremony was held for 22 Officer Cadets of TES-47 at the Cadets Training Wing (CTW) of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad, marking a significant milestone in their military training. The event took place on May 8, 2026, and served to recognize the achievements of cadets in various fields.

Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, AVSM, VSM, Commandant of MCEME and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, officiated the ceremony, presenting medals and distinctions to cadets who excelled in academics, sports, physical training, outdoor activities, weapon training, and drill.

Among the notable award recipients was Wing Cadet Captain Rahul Kumar, who was honored with the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Gold Medal for his exemplary overall performance. Wing Cadet Adjutant Ayush Singh Bisht received the Silver Medal, while Wing Cadet Quarter Master Shivam Yadav was awarded the Bronze Medal, highlighting the competitive spirit and dedication of the cadets.

In recognition of its overall excellence, Arjun Platoon, affectionately known as โ€œThe Apaches,โ€ was awarded the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Banner for the Spring Term 2026. This accolade underscores the platoon’s commitment to achieving high standards throughout their training period.

Addressing the cadets, Lt Gen Varshney emphasized the transformative journey they had undergone through four years of rigorous military and technical training. He noted that they were now ready to serve as confident leaders, capable of operating independently in challenging environments. Referring to insights from Operation Sindoor, he highlighted the necessity of adapting to the rapidly evolving landscape of technology-driven warfare.

The General encouraged the cadets to remain steadfast in their commitments to hard work, professional excellence, and integrity, while embracing lifelong learning in their service to the nation. He reiterated the importance of upholding the motto โ€œKarm Hi Dharmโ€ during their military careers.

Following the award presentations, Lt Gen Varshney took the opportunity to visit an Arts and Photography Exhibition that showcased the creative talents of the cadets. He engaged with the families of the cadets during the ceremony, fostering a sense of community and support as they celebrated this pivotal moment in their military journey.
