In a ceremony steeped in military tradition and pride, officer cadets from multiple courses at the Indian Military Academy gathered to receive their accoutrements ahead of their commissioning into the esteemed Regiment of Artillery. This significant event, set for June 13, 2026, marks a crucial transition for cadets from the 158th Regular Course, 141st Technical Graduate Course (TGC), 56th Special Commissioned Officers (SCO) Course, and the 47th Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course.
The Regiment of Artillery, often referred to as the “God of War,” plays a critical role in decisive battlefield operations, making the cadets’ transition all the more momentous. Attendees included Lieutenant General V K Ahluwalia (Retd), a decorated veteran, who shared inspirational words aimed at instilling a sense of duty and leadership in the future officers. Emphasizing the importance of military traditions, he urged the cadets to lead from the front and uphold the values and responsibilities associated with their chosen path.
Major General Rajesh Srivastava, SM, VSM, ADG Administration and Coordination, also addressed the cadets, encouraging them to embrace the ethos of the Regiment. He emphasized the importance of preparing to dominate the battlespace, reminding them that they will soon be the custodians of the Army’s “Arm of Decision.” This call to action resonated deeply as the cadets prepare for an impactful future.
