Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta conducted a visit to the Selection Centre East (SCE) on May 5-6, 2026, to review the operational effectiveness of the Services Selection Board (SSB) and evaluate the infrastructure dedicated to the officer selection process.

During this comprehensive visit, Major General D R Rai, Commandant of SCE, provided an in-depth briefing to the Army Commander on the multifaceted SSB selection process. This process includes a range of assessment methods such as psychological evaluations, group tasks, and personal interviews, all designed to rigorously evaluate candidates seeking to become commissioned officers in the Indian Army.

Lt Gen Sengupta’s inspection focused on the upgraded testing facilities and existing infrastructure at the centre. His emphasis was on the advancements made to improve not only the overall efficiency of the assessment system but also its transparency and effectiveness, ensuring that candidates are evaluated fairly and comprehensively.

In recognition of significant contributions to the selection process, the Army Commander presented Commendation Cards to two personnel, underscoring their exemplary service and outstanding performance.
