Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), conducted a visit to the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD) in Pune on June 4, 2026. The primary purpose of his visit was to assess the institution’s training initiatives and ongoing infrastructure development.
During his time at MINTSD, Lt Gen Sharma received a comprehensive briefing from the Commandant, Lieutenant General Devinder Pal Singh. The briefing focused on the institution’s active efforts to modernize training methodologies and to enhance its infrastructure, emphasizing the necessity for advanced educational frameworks that align with future operational demands.
Commending MINTSD’s progressive incorporation of cutting-edge technologies, Lt Gen Sharma underscored the institution’s critical role in providing state-of-the-art intelligence training for both officers and soldiers within the Indian Army. He articulated the significance of evolving intelligence training to address new security challenges and adapt to the changing landscape of modern warfare.
In addition, the Army Commander acknowledged the institution’s pivotal function in cultivating future-ready intelligence professionals who are equipped to operate efficiently in increasingly complex, technology-driven, multi-domain operational settings.
As part of the visit, Lt Gen Sharma awarded GOC-in-C Commendation Cards to selected personnel for their exemplary contributions to training excellence and professional development within MINTSD. This recognition highlights the high standards maintained by the institution in nurturing its staff.
A special ceremony also took place during the visit, honoring veterans from the Intelligence Corps. Colonel Ripu Daman Singh (Retd) and Naib Subedar (Dr) Saravanan P (Retd) received the Veteran Achievers Medal and Certificate of Appreciation for their unwavering dedication to the welfare of veterans and their ongoing service to the military community.
