In a significant development for military healthcare, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding of the Kharga Corps, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Cardiac Screening Centre at the Military Hospital in Ambala. This new facility is designed to enhance specialized healthcare services for military personnel and their families, marking a notable advancement in medical infrastructure for the military community.

The Cardiac Screening Centre is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic technology that includes an array of advanced systems such as Echocardiography (ECHO), Treadmill Test (TMT), digital Doppler imaging, automatic blood pressure monitoring, 24-hour Holter monitoring, a cardiac marker analyser, a Body Mass Index (BMI) analyser, and spirometry systems. These tools will enable comprehensive cardiac assessments, ensuring that military personnel receive timely and accurate diagnoses.

During his visit, Lt Gen Pushkar also took the opportunity to inspect the recently renovated Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital, accompanied by the Zonal President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). The improvements in the emergency department have been highlighted as a significant enhancement to the overall healthcare infrastructure at the Ambala military garrison.

Officials have expressed confidence that the establishment of the Cardiac Screening Centre, along with the upgrades to the emergency services, will greatly bolster the quality of healthcare available to military families. This initiative serves as a testament to the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its medical facilities and ensuring access to high-quality healthcare services, not only for serving personnel but also for veterans and their families. The enhancements reflect a broader goal of improving health outcomes and providing comprehensive medical support to those who serve the nation.
