Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Eastern Command, recently visited the Headquarters Jharkhand and Bihar Sub Area, as well as the Bihar Regiment Centre located in Danapur. The objective of this visit was to review the operational, training, and logistical preparedness of the formation.

During his visit, Lt Gen Krishnan, accompanied by the General Officer Commanding of the Trinity Area, received an extensive briefing on the current security situation and the formation’s readiness to tackle its operational commitments. This briefing covered critical areas, including the Agniveer training program, which is integral to developing disciplined, technology-savvy, and combat-ready personnel under the Agnipath Scheme.

In addition to training, the assessment also included a thorough evaluation of the formation’s capabilities in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR). Lt Gen Krishnan underscored the need for rapid response systems to address natural calamities and emergency situations effectively.
