Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, the Director General of the Assam Rifles, recently visited Srinagar to meet with Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command. In addition to the meeting, Lt Gen Lakhera conducted visits to several Assam Rifles battalions assigned to counter-insurgency roles throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
