A murder case has been officially registered in Ambala Cantonment following the death of 25-year-old Rahul Mishra, prompted by the intervention of Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij. The case was reopened after Rahul’s father, Vinod Kumar Mishra, a Junior Warrant Officer in the Indian Air Force, raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding his son’s death, alleging that the initial investigation was inadequate.
Initially, the police classified Rahul’s death as an accident, claiming he fell from the roof of his rented accommodation at Lekhi Complex in Mahesh Nagar on February 6. However, Vinod Kumar Mishra contested this conclusion, suggesting that there were suspicious elements to the incident that warranted a more thorough inquiry.
In his complaint, Vinod made serious allegations against both the landlord and his son, prompting Minister Vij to take action. He directed local police to register a murder case and to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
Following the minister’s orders, the Mahesh Nagar Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under relevant legal sections, and investigations are currently underway to determine the precise circumstances of Rahul Mishra’s death. The case underscores concerns regarding the handling of suspicious death investigations, with the Mishra family demanding justice and a transparent review of the incident.
