The M72 shoulder-fired rocket launcher is set to enhance its operational capabilities with the introduction of an innovative multi-weapon thermal smart sight, known as OSKAR TWS. Developed through a collaboration between the Finnish company Senop and Norway’s Nammo Raufoss AS, this new system aims to significantly increase the accuracy and effectiveness of the M72.
The OSKAR TWS is equipped with an attachable laser rangefinder that can connect either wirelessly or via a wired option, allowing troops to rapidly measure distances. This advancement is expected to greatly improve first-hit probability during engagements, which is crucial in combat scenarios.
One of the standout features of the OSKAR TWS is its quick-mount bracket, designed for field conditions. This mechanism enables soldiers to easily attach or remove the sight without the need for boresighting, facilitating a swift transition between various mission requirements.
