Pasifik Teknoloji has achieved a significant milestone in its international operations by signing a framework contract for the export of 100,000 attack drones. This landmark agreement marks the Turkish firm’s first venture into the global defense market, showcasing its potential for growth and innovation in unmanned aerial systems.

Details released by the company indicate that the contract was established with an unnamed partner from a “friendly and allied” country, as reported by Daily Sabah. In addition to the 100,000 Merkut first-person-view unmanned aerial systems included in the deal, the agreement also encompasses 10 Alpin unmanned helicopters, 25 Dumrul mini unmanned helicopters, 500 Deli kamikaze systems, and 500 Korgan autonomous ground support and surveillance units. This substantial contract not only underscores the company’s manufacturing capabilities but also signals a shift toward larger-scale international defense transactions for Pasifik Teknoloji.

Looking ahead, Aykut Ferah, the Chief Executive Officer of Pasifik Teknoloji, has highlighted the company’s ambition to establish joint ventures and enhance local production capabilities as part of the contract. “This structure clearly demonstrates Pasifik Teknoloji’s objective of becoming not only a company that exports products, but also a player that develops technology, exports production capabilities, and creates lasting value in the markets where it operates,” Ferah stated to Defence Turkey.

The company is also experiencing robust demand across various regions and is continuing discussions with the Secretariat of Defence Industries. Ferah suggested that the upcoming period will see an expansion in cooperation with allied nations, emphasizing that these collaborations will go beyond mere product exports to include technology transfer and strategic partnerships.

The Merkut kamikaze drone, which was first launched in 2024, is engineered with advanced capabilities including a guided fragmentation warhead and a proximity sensor for automated detonation, able to function effectively from distances of up to 5 meters. Additional security features have been incorporated to prevent accidental detonation, and the drone is designed to resist electronic interference. Offering a flight endurance of 20 minutes and a range of approximately eight kilometers, the Merkut system is positioned as a competitive product in the evolving landscape of unmanned systems. Enhanced versions of the drone are said to feature armor-piercing warheads, fiber-optic communication systems for resilience against electronic warfare, and artificial intelligence for target tracking and autonomous combat engagement.

As Pasifik Teknoloji prepares to deliver on this substantial export order, the defense sector is likely to closely monitor the company’s growth and their developments in technology and international partnerships.
