Twenty-two officers from the Sri Lankan Army have successfully completed a Tailor Made Intelligence Training Course at the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD), marking a significant milestone in defense cooperation between India and Sri Lanka. The graduation ceremony took place on July 25, 2026, highlighting the strengthened professional military ties between the two nations.

The specialized course was designed to enhance the participants’ skills in modern military intelligence, providing them with advanced training in intelligence tradecraft, analytical methodologies, and operational processes. This initiative is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to capacity building and professional military education for officers from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs).

During the training, Sri Lankan officers received extensive instruction in various facets of military intelligence, including intelligence tradecraft and analysis. The curriculum was focused on developing critical analytical skills, effective intelligence gathering techniques, and robust assessment methodologies. Emphasis was also placed on the practical application of military intelligence within contemporary operational environments. This training prepares the officers to tackle evolving security challenges and enhances their decision-making capabilities in military operations.

MINTSD has established itself as a premier institution for military intelligence education, catering not only to Indian Army personnel but also to officers from allied nations. Over the years, the institution has gained recognition as a Center of Excellence, frequently conducting specialized intelligence courses as part of India’s defense diplomacy efforts.

By hosting military professionals from various countries, the institution plays a vital role in improving interoperability, fostering mutual understanding, and strengthening strategic relationships. These training programs offer valuable opportunities for officers to exchange experiences, share best practices, and build lasting professional networks.

The successful conclusion of the course was honored during a felicitation ceremony led by Lieutenant General Devinder Pal Singh, the Commandant of MINTSD. In his address, he congratulated the graduating officers on their hard work and dedication throughout the rigorous program.

The ceremony also recognized outstanding achievers from the course, applauding their performance and commitment. Their accomplishments exemplify the professional competence upheld by MINTSD.

India continues to emphasize military training cooperation as a fundamental element of its defense engagement with friendly nations. By offering specialized courses at its top military institutions, the Indian Armed Forces share expertise across various domains, including intelligence, counter-insurgency, leadership, logistics, cyber operations, and peacekeeping.
