Ukraine is unveiling an innovative approach to counteract the growing threats posed by first-person view (FPV) drones. The country has developed an autonomous turret designed to deploy nets that can incapacitate these drones from a distance of up to 6 meters (20 feet).
This advanced technology, named Scan Horizon, utilizes a combination of sophisticated sensors to efficiently detect and track potential aerial threats. The system employs an AI-driven microphone array that passively identifies suspicious activity within a range of 20 meters (66 feet). Once a threat is detected, the system verifies it through a high-resolution optical camera, which enhances the targeting process. Following this visual confirmation, radar technology is employed to assess the drone’s proximity and velocity, ensuring precise engagement.
