The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Vadodara City Police has arrested two men after allegations that they used forged Indian Army ex-servicemen identity cards and related papers to land security jobs with private agencies. Police said the action followed specific information that the duo was carrying bogus Army documents.
Who Has Been Arrested
The accused have been identified as Dhirendrasingh Haal, also referred to as Dhirendrasing Harising, and Bhupendrasingh Gautam, also referred to as Bhupendrasing Shivkumarsing Gauttam or Bhupendrasingh Gautam Rajput. According to Gujarati media reports, both men are residents of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. Police detained Dhirendrasingh Haal from Parishrampark Society on Gorwa Road and Bhupendrasingh Gautam from Sikotardham Society in the Karodia area of Vadodara.
What Police Recovered
During searches and interrogation, police recovered several forged documents, including Indian Army service books, certificates of service, dependent certificates, pension cards, and fake ex-servicemen identity cards. Investigators have confirmed that neither of the arrested men had ever served in the Indian Army.
Police said the counterfeit documents were allegedly used to secure work as security guards with private security firms in the city, including Mahesana, Universal, and Sainik security firms.
Other People Named in the Probe
The accused reportedly told police that they had obtained the forged documents through intermediaries. Investigators have named two other individuals, Captain Sonavne of a local security firm and Ajaysinh Chauhan, as being involved in the forgery. Both remain at large, and efforts are underway to arrest them.
Case Status
An offence of forgery has been registered at Gorwa police station. Police are checking how the documents were prepared, whether a larger network is involved, and if more forged Army-related documents exist. Officials have also said that fake Indian Army ex-servicemen identity cards can pose a national security risk because such papers may be misused to gain access to sensitive locations or create a false sense of legitimacy.
The case has renewed concern over the misuse of military identity documents for employment and other gains. Further investigation is in progress.
