A significant event marking the completion of training for eight officers of the No. 46 Ground Instructors’ Training Course took place at the Ground Instructors’ School, located at Air Force Station Tambaram. The valedictory function, held on May 16, 2026, celebrated the achievements of these officers who have undergone rigorous training designed to elevate their instructional capabilities.
The Ground Instructors’ Training Course is tailored specifically for officers from diverse branches of the Indian Air Force, transforming them into Qualified Ground Instructors (QGIs). Throughout the training, they acquired advanced instructional skills, learned modern teaching methodologies, refined curriculum design techniques, and grasped training administration practices. This comprehensive training aims to cultivate a new generation of instructors who will significantly enhance the quality of Professional Military Education provided to air warriors.
The newly qualified instructors are anticipated to serve as essential force multipliers within the IAF. Their role will be crucial in elevating operational preparedness and contributing to capability development, ensuring that the air warriors are well-equipped to meet future challenges.
Air Commodore Tapan Sharma, the Air Officer Commanding at Air Force Station Tambaram, presided over the event as the Reviewing Officer. He took the opportunity to award certificates to each of the graduating officers, commending their hard work and dedication throughout the course. Additionally, trophies were distributed to course toppers in various categories, including academics, instructional skills, outdoor training, and overall merit, highlighting the spirit of excellence that pervades the institution.
A notable moment in the ceremony was the presentation of an Indian Air Force souvenir to a trainee officer from a friendly foreign country, underlining the collaborative spirit and international camaraderie fostered through such training programs.
