HAL Signs Contract with Mauritius for Export of One Advanced Light Helicopter
- In line with the central government’s vision to boost defence exports to friendly foreign countries, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has signed a contract with the Government of Mauritius for the export of one Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH Mk-III).
- The ALH Mk-III is a multi-role, multi-mission versatile helicopter in the 5.5-tonne category, according to HAL.
Russia To Send 12 Aircraft, 3 Missile Divisions To Belarus To Test Union Defence System
- Russia will deploy 12 aircraft, two missile defense divisions & one missile and gun systems division to Belarus as part of the two-stage test of the response forces of the Union State between the two nations.
- “As part of checking the functioning of the unified air defense system of the Union State, 12 Su-35s will be relocated to Belarusian territory, two divisions of the S-400 missile defense system, as well as the Pantsir-S missile and gun system battalion,” Russian Defence Minister.
Al-Qaida’s Links with Pak-based Terror Groups: India at UN
- Al-Qaida’s linkages with UNSC proscribed Pakistan-based terror groups like LeT and JeM has continued to strengthen, India’s envoy to the UN, the recent developments in Afghanistan have only served to re-energise the terrorist group.
- T S Tirumurti told the International Counter-Terrorism Conference 2022 organised by the Global Counter-Terrorism Council on Tuesday that the Islamic State (ISIS) has changed its modus operandi with its core focus is now on regaining ground in Syria and Iraq, and its regional affiliates are strengthening their expansion, especially in Africa and in Asia.
Capt. Vikram Batra’s “Bust” Unveiled by His Parents At Palampur Military Station
- A bust of Kargil War Hero, Capt. Vikram Batra, Param Vir Chakra (Posthumous) was unveiled at Palampur Military Station. The bust was unveiled by Sh. GL Batra & Smt. Kamal Kanta Batra, parents of Capt. Vikram Batra in presence of Lt Gen YK Joshi, GOC-in-C Northern Command, who was the Commanding Officer of 13 JAK RIF during the Kargil War.
Odisha-based Firm Anadrone Pips L&T To Bag Defence Contract
- In the first project to be finalised under the industry-funded Make in India scheme of the defence ministry, an Odisha-based company has signed a contract to supply expendable aerial targets to the Army and Air Force.
- The contract to supply 125 of the Maneuverable Expendable Aerial Targets (MEAT) and associated equipment, under the Make in India II category – which is meant for research and development projects funded by the industry with an indigenous content of over 50%.

- Under the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) —a pact between India and the United States—the country bought hundreds of sets of extreme cold winter clothing from the US for its troops, who were steadily getting deployed at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in tens of thousands.
- About three months ahead of the glitzy DefExpo 2022—India’s major flagship defence event to be held in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar in March—the defence ministry ordered a major review of all its Buy (global) procurements.
