‘Yoga, An Indian Heritage’ and m-Yoga App Launched
- Yoga Programmes organized at 75 heritage locations across India with the theme ‘Yoga, An Indian Heritage’ on International Day of Yoga.
- Culture Ministry organized yoga and cultural Programmes at heritage locations like Ellora Caves (Aurangabad), Nalanda (Bihar), Sabarmati Ashram (Gujarat), Hampi (Karnataka), Ladakh Shanti Stupa (Leh), Sanchi Stupa (Vidisha), Sheesh Mahal (Patiala), Rajiv Lochan temple (Chhattisgarh), Bomdila (Arunachal Pradesh) among others.
- PM Modi launched the m-Yoga app on the seventh International Day of Yoga. Developed jointly by the Ministry of Aayush and the World Health Organization (WHO), the m-Yoga app intends to provide yoga training and practice sessions of varying durations to laypersons and enthusiasts alike.
- The app can be used as a daily yoga companion for persons aged 12-65 years. WHO says the app was developed through review of scientific literature and extensive international expert consultation.
“Jaan Hai To Jahaan Hai” Campaign Launched
- Minority Affairs Minister Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launches a nationwide “Jaan Hai to Jahaan Hai” campaign to create awareness on Corona vaccination in rural and remote areas of the country.

- Ministry of Minority Affairs along with various socio-educational organizations, NGOs and Women Self Help Groups have launched the campaign.

- ePoS linkage with electronic weighing machines encouraged.
- Move to improve transparency and curb the leakages at ration shops at the time of weighing of food grains for beneficiaries.
- Amendment incentivizes States who have been using ePoS efficiently and encourages States to improve efficiency in epos operations and generate savings.
Iran Elects New President
- On Saturday, it was clear that hardline cleric Ebrahim Raisi would be the new President of Iran. His victory was widely anticipated.
- Raisi bagged almost 62 per cent of votes in Iran’s presidential elections as per the official figures. Voter turnout was 48.8 per cent, a record low for a presidential poll in the Islamic republic.
World Investment Report 2021 Released
- The World Investment Report 2021 by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), released Monday, said global FDI flows have been severely hit by the pandemic and they plunged by 35 per cent in 2020 to USD 1 trillion from USD 1.5 trillion the previous year.
- India Receives $64 bn FDI in 2020, Fifth Largest Recipient of Inflows in World.
- In India, FDI increased 27 per cent to USD 64 billion in 2020 from USD 51 billion in 2019.
