President Approves 384 Gallantry Awards & Other Defence Decorations to Armed Forces
- The President has approved awards of 384 Gallantry & other Defence decorations to Armed Forces personnel & others on the eve of 73rdRepublic Day celebrations.
- These include 12 Shaurya Chakras, 29 PVSM, 04 UYSM, 53 AVSM, 13 YSM, 03 Bar to VSM, 122 VSM, 03 Bar to SM(Gallantry), 81 SM(Gallantry), 02 VSM(Gallantry), 40 SM (Devotion to Duty), 08 Nao Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), and 14 Vayu Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty).
Neeraj Chopra To Be Awarded Param Vashistha Seva Medal 7 Padma Shri on Republic Day 2022
- Neeraj Chopra’s hat as the gold medalist will be awarded Param Vashistha Seva Medal by the 4 Rajputana Rifles on Republic Day.
- Neeraj Chopra is among the 6 sportspersons who will be conferred with the Padma Shri Award this year while Paralympics great Devendra Jhajharia is all set to receive the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian award.
President Approves Tatrakshak Medals to Indian Coast Guard Personnel
- The President of India has awarded President’s Tatrakshak Medal/ Tatrakshak Medal to the following Indian Coast Guard Personnel for their act of conspicuous gallantry, exceptional devotion to duty & distinguished/ meritorious service
Late CDS Bipin Rawat Conferred with Padma Vibhushan
- The Ministry of Home Affairs on January 25 shared a list with the names of personalities who will be conferred with the Padma awards this year. As many as 128 personalities will be honoured with the Padma Awards.
- Late CDS General Bipin Rawat will confer with Padma Vibhushan for Civil Service.
- The list comprises four Padma Vibhushan, 17 Padma Bhushan & 107 Padma Shri awards.
Critical For UNSC To Focus, Act Upon Growing Threat of Terrorism in Africa: India
- India has called on the international community to focus its attention on the threat of terrorism in Africa, in particular the Sahel region, saying it must be ensured that terrorist groups and affiliated entities are not allowed to operate unchallenged in Libya.
- Sahel region stretches from Senegal on the Atlantic coast, through parts of Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, and Sudan to Eritrea on the Red Sea coast.
