Western Naval Command Conducts Joint Maritime Exercise: Paschim Lehar
- A (joint maritime exercise Paschim Lehar XPL-2022) conducted by the Indian Navy off the West Coast was concluded on 25 January 2022.
- The exercise was conducted over a duration of 20 days with an objective to validate operational plans of the Western Naval Command and enhance Inter-Service synergy among the Indian Navy, IAF, Indian Army, and Coast Guard.
India’s First Woman Rafale Fighter Jet Pilot Part Of IAF Tableau
- The country’s first woman Rafale fighter jet pilot Shivangi Singh was part of the Indian Air Force tableau at the Republic Day parade.
- She is only the second woman fighter jet pilot to be part of the IAF tableau. Last year, Flight Lieutenant Bhawna Kanth became the first female fighter jet pilot to be part of the IAF tableau.
Cochin Shipyard Limited delivered the second lot of three Floating Border Out-Post vessels
- On Republic Day, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) delivered the second lot of three Floating Border Out-Post (FBOPs) vessels out of Nine FBOPs being built for the BSF to protect our borders. Three more vessels will be delivered in the coming months.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison extends warm wishes to India on Republic Day
- Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday extended his warm wishes to India on its 73rd Republic Day as well as Australia Day.
- The Australian PM also reiterated the shared vision of the two countries, i.e; the “open, free and resilient Indo-Pacific region”.
Seychelles Defence Force ship visits Kochi, Kerala
- Seychelles Peoples Defence Force Ship Zoroaster is on a goodwill visit to Kochi from January 25- 26.
- Zoroaster is a Fast Attack Craft constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders Engineering (GRSE) Kolkata that was presented to Seychelles Peoples Defence Force in 2021.
- The ship would depart for Visakhapatnam on January 26 to participate in the multilateral exercise MILAN-22.
