Ministry of Co-operation For ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’
- To give a new push to the cooperative movement across country a separate ‘Ministry of Co-operation’ has been created by the Central Government for realizing the vision of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation).
- Promised in Budget 2021, this ministry will provide a separate administrative, legal and policy framework for strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.
- It will help deepen Co-operatives as a true people-based movement reaching up to the grassroots, thereby paving way for community based developmental partnership between Government and People.
- The Constitution (97th Amendment) Act, 2011 added a new Part IXB right after Part IXA (Municipals) regarding the cooperatives working in India.
- The word “cooperatives” was added after “unions and associations” in Article 19(1)(c) under Part III of the Constitution. This enables all the citizens to form cooperatives by giving it the status of fundamental right of citizens.
- A new Article 43B was added in the Directive Principles of State Policy (Part IV) regarding the “promotion of cooperative societies”.
China Declared as “Malaria-Free”
- The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared China as “malaria-free”.
- It is a result of a seven decade-long, multi-pronged health strategy that was able to eliminate indigenous cases for four straight years.
- WHO grants the certification when a country has demonstrated with rigorous, credible evidence that the chain of indigenous malaria transmission by Anopheles mosquitoes has been interrupted nationwide for at least the past three consecutive years.
Legendary actor Dilip Kumar is No More
- Born on 11th Dec 1922 in Peshawar, Yusuf Khan AKA Dilip Kumar is often referred to as the “Tragedy King” and “The First Khan”, he has been credited for bringing a distinct form of method acting technique to cinema.
- In a career spanning over 6 decades, he has received 8 Filmfare Award (Best Actor), Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1994), Padma Bhushan (1991), Nishan-e-Imtiaz (1998) and Padma Vibhushan (2015).
Swami Prakashananda Ji Passes Away
- PM condoles demise of Former chief of Sivagiri Sree Narayana Dharma Saghom Trust.
- Belonging to Ezhava Caste, Sree Narayan Guru, gave the famous slogan “One Caste, One Religion, One God for All” (Oru Jathi, Oru Matham, Oru Daivam, Manushyanu).

Exports of GI certified Wheat Begins from Gujarat
- In a major boost to wheat exports, the first shipment of Geographical Indication (GI) certified Bhalia variety of wheat was exported today to Kenya and Sri Lanka from Gujarat.
- A geographical indication (GI) is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin.
- The crop is grown mostly across Bhal region of Gujarat which includes Ahmadabad, Anand, Kheda etc.
News On-Air Radio Live-stream Global Rankings
- In the latest Rankings of top countries in the world (excluding India) where All India Radio Live streams on NewsOnAir App are most popular, Fiji has jumped from 5th position to 2nd, while Saudi Arabia has made a comeback in top 10. Kuwait and Germany are new entrants, while France and New Zealand are no more in top 10. United States continues to be number 1.
- In what is an important feat, All India Radio’s Telugu and Tamil live-stream services are popular in United States, while AIR Punjabi service is popular in United Kingdom.
- More than 240 Radio Services of All India Radio are live streamed on NewsOnAir App, Prasar Bharati’s official App.

- Of 43, 15 Ministers were inducted into the Union Cabinet and 28 Ministers inducted as Ministers of State.
- Article 74 provides for Council of Ministers to aid The President of India.
- Article 75(1) The Prime Minister shall be appointed by the President and the other Ministers shall be appointed by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister.
