PM Narendra Modi on June 14, held a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders. Later, the Prime Minister also met Pope Francis of the Vatican. The G7 Summit is an international forum held annually for the leaders of the G7 member states of France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Canada (in order of rotating presidency), and the European Union (EU). The theme of this year’s summit, which will be attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Turkiye, as a special guest, has been set as “rules-based international system.”

KAZA Summit 2024 and Wildlife Product Trade
The KAZA 2024 Heads of State Summit ended in the Zambian resort town of Livingstone on May 31, with leaders of the five member countries agreeing to argue their case for lifting of the ban on ivory trade at the 20th meeting of the Conference of Parties (CoP20) of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) due next year in Geneva, Switzerland. Similar to this summit, Southern African nations promoted the legalization of the ivory trade at the 2022 Conference of Parties in Panama in order to fund conservation efforts and lessen conflicts between people and wildlife. The fourth edition of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Startup Forum convened in New Delhi on March 19, 2024, with a focus on enhancing interactions among SCO Member States’ startups, fostering innovation, creating employment opportunities, and nurturing young talent.
