In a proactive initiative aimed at enhancing security and promoting peaceful coexistence in the region, Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, conducted a significant visit to Kangvai, Ningthoukhong, and Nambol Phoijing. During this critical visit, he assessed the operational readiness of military formations and units, engaging directly with personnel from the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Manipur Police.
Lt Gen Pendharkar lauded the troops for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and commendably high morale in the face of challenges. He emphasized the necessity for the personnel to remain in a heightened state of alertness as well as to sustain their cohesive efforts for the sake of regional stability. His remarks were intended to instill a renewed sense of purpose among the forces stationed in the area.
In addition to reviewing military operations, the Corps Commander prioritized dialogue with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). This engagement aimed to reassure local communities of the Indian Army’s relentless commitment to maintaining peace and tranquility across Manipur—a region that has faced its share of turbulence.
