In a momentous ceremony marking its Raising Day, the Assam Rifles showcased its commitment to excellence by honoring its top-performing units with the prestigious Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) Banner for 2023-24. As India’s oldest paramilitary force, the Assam Rifles continues to play a critical role in ensuring peace, security, and stability in some of the country’s most challenging regions.
This year, 4 Assam Rifles was awarded the coveted DGAR Banner, a recognition attributed to its exemplary all-round performance, which includes operational effectiveness, discipline, civic engagement, and administrative efficiency. The unit’s dedication to safeguarding the nation’s borders, coupled with its active involvement in local community initiatives, was highlighted as a benchmark of excellence.
The ceremony also recognized 3 Assam Rifles as the first runner-up, commending its high operational readiness and consistent contributions to counter-insurgency efforts. Meanwhile, 36 Assam Rifles was honored as the second runner-up for its steadfast professionalism and significant role in internal security operations.
