Saronic Technologies Expands Autonomous Surface Vessel Line with New Models Mirage and Cipher

Texas-based startup Saronic Technologies has announced the expansion of its autonomous surface vessel (ASV) lineup with the introduction of two new models: the “Mirage” and the “Cipher.” This expansion showcases Saronic’s commitment to enhancing maritime technology with cutting-edge vessels that cater to both military and commercial needs.

The Mirage, a 40-foot (12 meters) long vessel, boasts an impressive carrying capacity of 2,000 pounds (907 kilograms) and is designed to operate over expansive distances, with a range exceeding 2,000 nautical miles (approximately 2,301 miles or 3,704 kilometers). In contrast, the larger Cipher stretches 60 feet (18 meters) and has a remarkable carrying capacity that is five times greater than that of the Mirage. The Cipher also features an extended operational range, facilitating missions that can cover more than 3,000 nautical miles (around 3,452 miles or 5,556 kilometers). Both vessels are capable of speeds exceeding 35 knots (64 kilometers or 40 miles per hour).

Saronic’s ASVs are designed with a focus on modular open systems architecture, allowing for versatile applications in various military and commercial contexts, including logistics and harbor operations. The new models share the same advanced autonomy stack as their counterparts, demonstrating Saronic’s dedication to scalability in their designs. Just a week prior to unveiling the Mirage and Cipher, Saronic introduced the 150-foot (45 meters)-long “Marauder” ASV, further diversifying its fleet. With the addition of these three models—Marauder, Mirage, and Cipher—Saronic now offers a range of drone boats, including the 24-foot (7.31 meters) Corsair, the 14-foot (4.2 meters) Cutlass, and the 6-foot (1.8 meters) Spyglass.

Company CEO Dino Mavrookas emphasized the significance of these advancements, stating, “The future of maritime dominance depends on the rapid adoption of these technologies — and achieving that future will require a diverse range of ASVs, from small vessels to larger systems designed to support existing and emerging critical mission needs.” This commitment to innovation positions Saronic Technologies at the forefront of the evolution in autonomous maritime solutions.
