The alerts were issued on April 30, 2025, amidst concerns that these cyber attacks aim to extract military-related information through seemingly innocuous educational channels.
Sources indicate that the cyber attempts are focused on breaching various digital platforms associated with the schools, including websites, internal communication systems, and parent-teacher messaging services. In light of these threats, school administrations have urged parents and staff to refrain from sharing any personal or security-related information through phone calls, emails, or messages from unfamiliar sources.
One circular issued by an army school emphasized, “Any suspicious communication, including calls asking about a child’s schedule or army personnel details, must be reported immediately.” This call for vigilance underscores the heightened sense of insecurity within these institutions.
In response to these threats, cybersecurity teams have been mobilized to monitor network activity, while IT protocols have been strengthened across all army schools nationwide. Officials suspect that the cyber intrusion attempts may be part of a wider strategy by Pakistan to target softer avenues linked to military infrastructure for potential intelligence gathering.
These developments come in the wake of reports regarding the deployment of Pakistani warships in regional waters and rising fears of potential conflict escalation following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
