Rheinmetall Unveils Modular, Armored Truck at Mobility Days 2025

Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) has made a significant announcement at the inaugural Mobility Days 2025 event in Vienna, unveiling its latest advancement in military transport: the TGS-Mil Protected vehicle. This new offering is a modular, armored, and militarized truck, designed to meet the evolving needs of modern military operations.

The TGS-Mil Protected is based on RMMV’s established TG military truck series and is available in both 6×6 and 8×8 configurations. These variants are engineered for exceptional off-road mobility, ensuring they can operate effectively in a variety of terrains. The vehicle is designed with operator safety in mind, featuring a protected two-person cabin that prioritizes the well-being of its occupants.

Under the hood, the TGS-Mil is powered by a robust MAN D2676 six-cylinder diesel engine. This engine provides an impressive output of up to 520 horsepower (382 kilowatts) and generates a torque of up to 2,650 Newton meters (1,954.5 pound-force feet). The vehicle is compatible with NATO’s F34 fuel and adheres to Euro II, V, and VIe emission standards, showcasing its capability for environmentally responsible operation.

RMMV emphasizes the importance of ease of maintenance and reliability in the design of the TGS-Mil. By utilizing proven civilian components, the company aims to simplify maintenance tasks and leverage MAN’s extensive global service network, ensuring operations can continue smoothly even in challenging environments.

Safety features in the TG-MIL series are paramount, with each vehicle constructed from high-strength materials to enhance protection in case of frontal impacts. Additionally, advanced driving assistance systems are integrated to support the driver, complemented by an interior layout that minimizes distractions, thereby focusing attention on operational demands.

Further enhancing the vehicle’s versatility, the reinforced roof is designed to accommodate two soldiers along with additional essential gear. This can include weapon mounts, ammunition storage, antennas, or extra batteries, making the vehicle suitable for various mission profiles. A round hatch and provisions for swivel mounts add to its operational capabilities.

The TG-MIL platforms are also equipped with stealth features, including a three-stage blackout light system with infrared visibility, which requires special equipment to be seen. Furthermore, the Mission Mode feature enhances operational security by deactivating all actively transmitting functionalities, thereby reducing vulnerability to cyber threats.

RMMV’s latest reveal at the Mobility Days 2025 underscores its commitment to advancing military vehicle technology, blending safety, functionality, and innovation into a single platform designed for the demands of modern warfare.
