In a significant step towards enhancing its logistical capabilities and supporting the government’s initiative for self-reliance in defense, the Indian Army has inked a contract valued at ₹223.95 crore with M/s Axiscades Aerospace and Technologies Private Limited. This agreement, finalized on August 1, 2025, pertains to the procurement of 212 advanced 50 Ton Tank Transporter Trailers.

The newly procured trailers come equipped with cutting-edge hydraulic and pneumatic loading ramps, as well as steerable and liftable axles. These advanced features are designed to facilitate the rapid and efficient loading, unloading, and transport of tanks and other armored vehicles, even in challenging terrain. The introduction of these trailers is set to substantially enhance the mobility and logistical efficiency of frontline military formations.

Manufactured locally in India, these trailers reflect the Indian Army’s commitment to boosting indigenous defense production capabilities. This initiative not only aims to fortify the operational readiness of the army but is also expected to create job opportunities and foster long-term industrial growth within the country.

This procurement highlights the Indian Army’s dedication to maintaining operational preparedness while simultaneously contributing to the overarching national goal of establishing a self-sufficient defense ecosystem.
