The Indian Navy has released its much-awaited notification inviting applications from eligible unmarried men and women for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in various technical, executive, and education branches. Successful candidates will undergo training at the prestigious Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala, commencing June 2026 onwards.

Additional Eligibility Clauses

  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible.
  • Candidates must not have any backlog in their qualifying degree at the time of SSB interview.
  • NCC ‘C’ certificate holders receive a 5% relaxation in shortlisting cut-off marks, subject to certain conditions.
  • Age and educational qualification cut-off will be strictly as per notification.
  • Candidates from Merchant Navy, CPL holders, and those interested in Submarine/RPA specialization should note specific application and eligibility clauses in the notification.

Selection Procedure

  • Group Insurance: All officers to be compulsorily covered under Naval Group Insurance Scheme.
  • Bond/Service Commitment: Candidates dismissed for unsatisfactory performance or voluntarily withdrawing during probation/training must refund the training cost and all pay and allowances drawn.
