A US-German autonomous software company has made significant strides in drone technology with the introduction of a new solution that enables drones from various manufacturers to operate as a coordinated unit. The innovative program, named “Nemyx,” is underpinned by AuterionOS and allows any compatible drone to integrate into a swarm through a straightforward software upgrade.
Utilizing advanced artificial intelligence (AI), Nemyx excels in providing autonomous, precise engagement with multiple targets simultaneously, which reduces the workload on human operators and significantly accelerates operational processes. This technology is designed to be scalable, accommodating anything from small drone units to expansive formations, thereby enabling versatile deployment scenarios.
Key to the functionality of Nemyx is its optimization for Skynode S technology, enabling drones to effectively navigate and bypass electronic warfare countermeasures. This integration occurs without the need for hardware replacements or extensive retraining for operators, making it a seamless transition for military applications.
The capabilities of Nemyx are geared towards specific military operations, including precision strikes in complex environments, tactical reconnaissance, threat mapping, and real-time border surveillance. Auterion’s CEO emphasized the innovative potential of the system, stating, “By combining real-time AI, computer vision, and Skynode S-equipped drones, we’ve created a solution that rapidly identifies, prioritizes, and neutralizes multiple threats.” He further added that soldiers could deploy swarming capabilities efficiently, whether from a compact rucksack or larger transport vehicles.
In a demonstration video, the drone swarm showcased its ability to autonomously and simultaneously engage two separate tank targets, marking a significant milestone as the “first global showcase of a kinetic swarm system coordinating drones from multiple manufacturers.” This development builds upon the company’s practical experience in operational contexts, particularly in Ukraine, where the Skynode S technology has been in combat use since its launch in 2024.
Recently, Auterion also secured a substantial Pentagon contract to supply 33,000 AI strike kits for Ukrainian drones, all of which are compatible with the new Nemyx system. This move underscores the growing importance and demand for sophisticated drone technology in modern combat scenarios.
