Sign Language Day – 2025

  • Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre an autonomous body under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment GOI, is organizing a grand programme to celebrate “Sign Language Day – 2025” on 23rd September 2025.
  • The United Nations General Assembly has declared 23rd September as International Day of Sign Languages to raise awareness about the importance of sign language in realizing the human rights of people who are Deaf.
  • This year’s theme – “No Human Rights Without Sign Language Rights” – emphasizes the crucial role of sign language in ensuring equality, inclusion, and dignity for persons who are Deaf.

10th National Ayurveda Day

  • The Ministry of Ayush, in collaboration with the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, hosted the 10th National Ayurveda Day.
  • This year’s Ayurveda Day will highlight the enduring legacy of Ayurveda and its contribution to health and ecological sustainability under the theme “Ayurveda for People, Ayurveda for Planet.”
  • Ayurveda Day will also see the release of publications such as “25 Years Journey of NMPB,” “Campus Flora” of AIIA Goa, “Ayurveda for Sports Medicine,” and “Ayurveda Insight for Restful Sleep.” Technical releases will include the algorithm for integrative management of leukemia by the Centre for Integrative Oncology, a study on wound healing from Sushrut Samhita, the Ayush Innovation Readiness Framework (abridged version), and a compendium titled “Seeds of Innovation” from the Navapravartan Idea Hackathon 1.0.

  • The ceremony, themed “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation”, celebrated grassroots digital innovation in governance.

  • Benchmarking logistics performance across all States & Union Territories to encourage competition and improvement.
  • Assessment of 5–7 major corridors using parameters such as journey time, truck speed, and waiting periods to capture real‑world logistics bottlenecks.
  • API‑based evaluation of section‑wise speeds on major road corridors, offering sharper, high‑resolution data for planning and monitoring.
  • Enables the government to collaborate with states based on these insights to improve infrastructure, reduce delays, and lower logistics cost.
