Four UKNA Insurgents Neutralised in Operation Khanpi, Manipur

In a proactive counter-insurgency operation, Security Forces successfully neutralised four armed cadres of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), a non-Suspension of Operations insurgent group, on 4 November 2025. The operation took place in Khanpi village, located approximately 80 kilometres west of Churachandpur, Manipur, during the early hours.

During a search operation in the region, troops encountered unprovoked fire from the insurgents, which prompted an intense exchange of gunfire. The clash ultimately led to the neutralisation of the four UKNA members, marking a significant development in the battle against insurgent activities in the area.

As the operation continues, extensive searches are being conducted in the challenging terrain surrounding Khanpi village. Security Forces are focusing on the densely forested regions to eliminate any remaining hostile elements and to recover weapons or military supplies. The difficult landscape has posed additional challenges for the troops engaged in this ongoing mission.

This operation follows a disturbing rise in violence perpetrated by UKNA cadres, which includes the assassination of a local village chief and various acts of intimidation aimed at residents. The recent actions of the insurgents have raised concerns over peace and stability in the area. The success of this counter-insurgency operation is intended to send a clear message against such violence and underscore the commitment to maintaining law and order.

The Indian Army and Assam Rifles have reiterated their dedication to the protection of innocent civilians and the restoration of peace in troubled regions. The neutralisation of these insurgents not only reflects operational effectiveness but also emphasizes the resolve of security forces to counter threats that undermine regional stability.
