Officer Restoring Connectivity

In the wake of Cyclone Ditwah, which caused significant disruptions to communication networks in various parts of Sri Lanka, the Indian Army’s Shatrujeet Brigade Integrated Task Force took decisive action to restore essential infrastructure.

Under Operation Sagar Bandhu, the military unit focused on repairing the cyclone-damaged Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) responsible for a major communications blackout in the Mahiyanganaya area, located near Kandy. Their expedited efforts successfully reestablished critical connectivity, benefiting thousands of residents and local authorities who had been left without communication during a crucial time.

This swift and well-organized response highlights India’s dedication as a dependable first responder in the region. By providing immediate assistance and restoring communication lifelines, the Indian Army not only facilitated recovery efforts but also reinforced regional humanitarian partnerships at a time when they were desperately needed.
