Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni, the Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DGEME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, recently conducted a visit to the Vajra Corps. This trip included an interaction with soldier-technicians and a review of ongoing cutting-edge capability development initiatives within the Corps.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sahni inspected several key facilities, including the Mass Drone and Fixed-Wing Fabrication Facilities. He commended the “techno warriors” of the Corps for their precision, professionalism, and innovative approaches focused on mission accomplishment. Observing their efforts, he noted how these soldier-engineers are playing a crucial role in rapidly developing indigenous solutions tailored to meet frontline operational demands, thereby enhancing combat capabilities.
In addition to his focus on technical proficiency, the DGEME visited the Army Hockey Node, recognizing the Corps’ commitment to fostering sporting excellence in parallel with its technical advancements. This highlights a balanced approach to developing both physical fitness and technical skills among personnel.
Lt Gen Sahni praised the Corps for its tireless efforts in enhancing operational readiness and fortifying field formations through self-reliant, technology-driven solutions. These initiatives reflect the Indian Army’s overarching strategy to embrace indigenous innovation and develop future-ready capabilities that can adapt to evolving challenges.
